Listen to Alan’s interview on Madison’s Air America Radio affiliate, sharing his insights into the struggle for freedom in Burma .The BBC reported Oct 2nd that "about 4,000 Buddhist monks" have been roundedup in Rangoon and according to sources from within "a government-sponsored militia,they would soon be sent to prisons in the far north of the country. The monks havebeen disrobed and shackled." The same sources said "the monks are refusing to eat."American Embassy officials said that "15 Rangoon monasteries have been emptied."
